Playscape and Random Acts of Kindness
The Team at Playscape Creations were pleased to be able to recently take part in the renovation of a Childcare centre at Sunnybank in Brisbane as part of the team on the new show “Random Acts of Kindness” on Channel nine. The show is to be hosted by Scott Cam and is a “heart-warming and feel-good show, making dreams come true for deserving Australians.”
Playscape Creations were pleased to be able to assist in the rubbersurfacing and Installation of the external Playground area and was a lot of fun all involved for the weekend that it took place. Beign assisted by Parkequip from NSW, who supplied the playground equipment for the show, the overall result in the end was an amazing transformation and we were proud to be involved and be able to give something back to the local community, especially to the kids.
It was wonderful seeing all the children enjoying their new environment and playing with all their new play equipment. The end result was worth all the hard work and effort we all put in. It was great to see it airing on the Nine Network earlier this year and be a part of bringing some joy to the kids and their families.
A Day at Funzone
After a week of torrential rain and the largest rainfall that Brisbane has seen in 21 years, Playscape Creations couldn’t have asked for better weather for our Product Launch. The sun shone through the grey clouds for the day and great day was had by all those that attended our recent Fun Zone day on the 21st May held at the Rough Habit Room and Lawn of the Eagle Farm Racecourse. The team at Playscape Creations were excited to show case our amazing and innovative New Playground and Recreational product ranges manufactured by Landscape Structures Inc and to tell our guests more about the exciting evolution of Waterplay and Aquatic Spray parks in Australia.
Guests registered by 10.00am and collected their Fun Zone bag of goodies of information and treats. The day was hosted by renowned radio personality from 4BC – Mr Ross Davie who imparted his mischievous activities that he got up to in his local playground growing up, keeping the guests entertained throughout the day with his light-hearted anecdotes of his memories of how playgrounds once were… The day was enjoyed by many guests and it was a great pleasure for us to be able to present the up and coming trends in the Playground and Recreational Industry.
Marcel Veraart – Managing Director of Playscape Creations, kicked off the formalities of the morning with a brief history of the company and what is in stall for the up and coming developments of Playscape Creations. Marcel introduced Craig White who presented the trends and changes to the world of Waterplay in Australia and overseas. He discussed the benefits of waterplay in a park setting and showcased some of the work that has been constructed including the Spray Park at Mt Isa that Playscape Creations has just finished in recent weeks.
Gary Lindberg and Pat Faust from Landscape Structures Inc came over especially for the day from America to provide an informative and interesting presentation covering topics on their product ranges from the revolutionary new Healthbeat equipment – fitness for the great outdoors and the gyroscopic world of Evos + Weevos play structures. Pat Faust discussed the companies profile and culture and also their focus on Creating Healthy, Sustainable communities and designing and manufacturing environmentally friendly playground equipment. The formal sessions of the day allowed those that were there the opportunity to learn more about Playscape Creations and the chance to hear and speak directly with the manufacturers themselves from both Waterplay Solutions Corp and Landscape Structures inc. Clive Dodd (Consulting Coordination) completed the formal session of the day by giving a resounding endorsement of the new Landscape Structures equipment.
A few highlights from the Fun Zone day were introducing “What’s next is NOW” and this was demonstrated up close and personal. with a live product display of the revolutionary new HealthBeat fitness equipment. It was evident that this was a feature of the day where the guests were able to experience the benefits of this equipment, by hearing and seeing it first hand from our fitness instructor Marina Perry from Pure Health clubs. To demonstrate the usability of the equipment she recruited the brave voluntary participation of our MC for the day Ross Davie, who appeared from the back in his fitness outfit, which was an entertaining yet educational segment of the day. We also had a section of one of our new Evos systems on display so our guests were able to also see and touch the gyroscopic elements of one our play systems. This was followed by a question and answers time that allowed those that were there to ask relevant questions pertaining to any queries about the new equipment and hears it directly from the representatives of the manufacturers themselves. Clive Dodd also participated in this final outdoor question time which gave a final closing endorsement of the new product ranges coming to Australia.
After the formalities of the day were concluding guests were invited to finish their informative and entertaining day off with a light lunch of gourmet sandwiches and focacia’s in the outdoor area that overlooked the racecourse and the playground installations. This allowed guests the time to touch and feel and interact with staff and presenters in a relaxed environment. Ross Davie then wrapped up the formalities of the day by drawing two lucky door prizes for our guests who all participated in our Fun Zone day.

Exciting changes at Playscape Creations
The team at Playscape Creations are excited to announce that we are working towards further enhancing the lives of children through play and there are some amazing changes that are happening within our industry.
We wish to take this opportunity to inform you, our valued clients, that as of 2nd February 2009 we are no longer the exclusive distributor for Megatoy products in our specified territories. We have handed over our distribution of Megatoy products to the company – Active Play Pty Ltd, who are a Family business managed by Luke Pickering. They have been dealing with the Far North region of Queensland and Northern Territory as Megatoy’s independent distributor since 2002.
As an integral process of our handover to Active Play, Playscape Creations has established that we will be maintaining our relationships and thus honouring any current quotes and proposals that have specified Megatoy play equipment within the design dated up to 30th January 2009.

Playscape Creations wins award… again…
At the recent LOGOV EXPO 2008 held at Meakin Park, Logan Queensland, Playscape Creations has won the ‘Highly Commended’ Award for the most outstanding display. Once again innovative new product was on display and a few local councils edged forward to invest in our new release Play Equipment items. Also on display was the fabulous new “Splash Zones” mini spray-ground system, integrated into the Goldfish Pond splash pad. Exciting New Innovations found at the NRPA Conference 2008
During the month of October, Playscape Creation’s Managing Director, Marcel Veraart, traveled to the National Recreation and Park Association Congress in Baltimore USA to invest in learning more for the Playground Design Industry in Australia. Marcel was able to spend time with many innovative designers and understand where the Playground market is moving throughout the world. Playground design is really taking into consideration all of the climate change issues and many companies are ensuring their production has minimal impact on the carbon footprint. Waterplay Manufacturing Conference 2008
The annual Waterplay Conference was held in Baltimore USA this year in conjunction with the NRPA congress. Our Managing Director, Marcel Veraart, traveled to the conference to keep in-tune to the Waterplay step for the coming year.
