Every playground should be rich in the sensory experiences that nurture ALL children of ALL abilities, bringing them together in play. By working with experts in the fields of child development, adaptive recreations, sensory play and occupational therapy, Landscape Structures has created a suite of sensory play experiences that can be added to any existing playground or serve as the foundation for larger-scale inclusive parks. By making them part of your playground, you’ll be giving children the sensory experiences they love, while helping them realise their highest levels of physical, emotional, cognitive and social development.
With the introduction of our new Sensory Play products for 2010, millions of children with sensory processing disorders have been invited into the heart of the playground, redefining the very nature of inclusive play. By working together, we can now give ALL CHILDREN the play experiences they crave, and the physical, social, cognitive and emotional development they need.
Children on the autism spectrum are just one example of children with sensory processing challenges – these children represent an increasing need for sensory-rich playground experiences.
Sensory play products provide the necessary levels of stimulation and social interaction for children who have difficulty processing and integrating the sensory experiences of touch, sight, sound, vestibular development (balance and movement through space) and proprioception (muscle sense/body positioning and coordination). Our sensory play products strive to provide each child with their “just right” sensory experience, whether they are a fun-loving child with Down syndrome or another developmental disability, or are typically developing.
