New Product

Two new exciting product ranges were proudly launched at the Landscape Structures International Sales Conference in January.  The Natural Play range was developed with growing statistics on childhood obesity (among other concerns) in mind.  Encouraging children to go outside and play – NATURALLY – meets with the goal of combating childhood obesity and improving the general health of our children.  The influx of technical gadgetry, combined with fewer opportunities for outdoor play means today’s youth are living a more sedentary lifestyle, and they’re paying for it by developing diseases previously found primarily in adults.  Recent research appears to support the idea that nature is essential to the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of our children.

“Developing safe places for children to interact freely with nature is the purpose of what is called the ‘natural Playscape’. The movement toward natural outdoor play opportunities for children has been growing [embracing] the importance of giving children opportunities to play and learn in outdoor environments. Playgrounds built with, and in, the natural environment are more effective in developing fitness, balance and co-ordination.” Source – “The Great Outdoors, Restoring Children’s Right to Play Outside” Mary Rivkin

The Sensory Play Wall and Cosy Dome complement our existing “Sensability” range – encouraging children of all abilities to interact and play together.  Guided by the Landscape Structures Inclusive Play Advisory Board, LSI has become a leader in creating playground fetaures and events that are attractive and engaging to all children.  We learn about the world through our senses, helping to build confidence and imagination.  Now there is a great opportunity to welcome the thousands of children with sensory processing deficits – from Autism to Asperger Syndrome & Down Syndrome and the many in between – back to the playground.

Combining the three main components of a higher level of inclusive play – physical accessibility, age and developmental appropriateness, and sensory-stimulating activity – our playground designs invite children of all abilities to play and imagine together.  Making them equal through play.
