Doug the Dugong

Not all of our projects involve fantastic large scale play systems – some rely simply on our ability to provide bespoke recreational space solutions. The Wellington Point Streetscape upgrade has been a major undertaking for Redland  City Council and we’ve been lucky to be able to bring some marine conservation awareness to the pavement with the inclusion of Doug the Dugong!

This lesser known marine mammal is currently classified as a vulnerable species both in QLD and worldwide due to hunting and habitat destruction, so we hope Doug’s presence here on the pavement will start conversations and spark a greater awareness in their conservation.
