Running late for a meeting? Or just to remember that life needs to contain a little fun!
We love it when a client shares our passion for fun, and their desire to do something a little different in the design of their new corporate headquarters at Southbank brought both our design and engineering expertise to the fore.
In consultation with commercial construction specialists Watpac and PDT Architects, we developed two amazing slides that take the Flight Centre team from levels 14 to 13 and from 13 to 12 – very quickly!
Manufactured by our partners Landscape Structures with heavy input from our in house design specialist, these totally enclosed custom tube slides have five clear perspex upper sections so that the rider can see out and equally, peers can see in as they take the fast lane down the 9m long ride, with a drop of 3.75m between floors.
To withstand the load of multiple adult users travelling at speed to their next meeting, a 250mm deep “I” Beam was designed and manufactured locally. The construction went smoothly, coordinating with Watpac’s construction programme under the watchful eye of our Project Engineer Nick Veraart.
It was fantastic to be a part of this unique office fit-out, and to being instrumental in bringing fun back into the workplace.
