The team at Playscape Creations were proud to be a part of the design and construction of the biggest spray park in Queensland. Situated in Mt Isa, the council had upgraded one of its city central parks to a destination location called the Mt Isa family Recreation park. The project is part of a long term strategy for renewal of Mount Isa’s Sport and Recreation facilities.
The WaterPlay equipment focuses on Role Play with Pond themed equipment including Frogs, Fish & Lilly pads. The rubber soft fall continues this theme with different colours representing land and water. The spray area also has interactive play panels and equipment which allows children of all abilities to experience every aspect of play including sensory, motor, imaginative and educational.
The Project is the redevelopment of a City Central recreational park that will cater for the needs of children and families of all abilities in Mount Isa. The Family Recreation Park design was achieved through user group consultation which identified the specific needs and desires of the intended users of the park.
Playscape Creations worked together with the Landscape Architects and Council Representatives for over 12 months and the construction side of things took approximately 6 – 7 weeks to complete the transition of the parks’ Spray area. The project is the biggest Aquatic Play area that Playscape Creations has undertaken to date and the end result is a wonderland that has transformed the Mt Isa Streetscape.
